Condition Remains GREEN

Apple has released iOS 5.1.1, before the update users should make an encrypted backup of their iOS device. The update includes Safari and WebKit updates to address URL Spoofing (CVE-2012-0674), memory corruption (CVE-2012-0672) and multiple cross site scripting issues. (CVE-2011-3046/CVE-2011-3056). These updates should be applied promptly. 

Additionally the following improvements are included:

  • Improves reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
  • Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
  • Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances
  • Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List
  • Fixes an issue where 'Unable to purchase' alert could be displayed after successful purchase

Apple has released Apple FIPS Cryptographic Module c1.1 which contains Apple's FIPS 140-2 Administration Tools. This tools should be use by organizations that require the use of the FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic module. Users need to download the file from Apple at the following address.
